Chris Pekary, MA, MDIV, LPC-MHSP, NCC, CSAT
Chris grew up in Northern California, and received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Mathematics from Pepperdine University. He is a former software and hardware guy. He left the tech world to attend graduate school at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL, where he received his Master of Arts in Counseling and Master of Divinity. He is an ordained minister and formerly served as an Assistant Pastor. Chris and his wife, Debbie, have two adult sons.
Chris is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). He has over 20 years of clinical experience working with clients in very complex life situations.
Chris offers individual sessions as well as blocks of time for intensive work with individuals or couples, and specializes in:
- Couples & Relationship Issues
- Men struggling with sexual addiction / compulsivity and other intimacy disorders
- Spouses or partners of addicted individuals
- Couples with addiction or intimacy issues
- Therapy groups for male sex addicts
- Depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders
- Adjusting to life stressors
Sexual addiction is a complex addiction but there is hope! As a trained Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT®), Chris has completed training developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes which required attendance at multiple training modules and supervision with a CSAT Supervisor. It also requires ongoing education so that CSATs are experts in providing sexual addiction therapy. It is a rigorous process designed to help him best help you.
